At San Francisco, we help New Nordic growth companies to increase awareness and build credibility through earned media coverage. Our mission is to help uncover our clients’ true purpose, highlight their positive impact, and tell their story to the world via personal and effective media relations.

Now we’re looking for a future star in communications to join our international team based in Helsinki, Finland. You can be based anywhere in Finland with the possibility to come and say hi to us at the office every now and then! 

You get to do:

  • Helping our clients to tell their newsworthy stories to the world and the media.

  • Writing long-form content that dives deeper into our clients’ industries and tech applications, often explaining complex concepts in a simple and clear way.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with journalists and the media.

  • Workshopping with our clients to dig out key themes, points of interest, and credibility factors.

  • Working together with the whole team to attract the best clients and talent.

  • Creating content for San Francisco Agency’s social media and marketing channels.

We’re an international and diverse team based in Helsinki, Finland. Since launching in 2009, we’ve worked with almost 250 Nordic companies that are known across the world. Our office is located above the rooftops of Kamppi, set within an awesome coworking community of tech, marketing, and design talent. You can decide for yourself whether you want to work in the office or remotely elsewhere, but we aim to meet physically at least once a month as a team.

As a team, we appreciate good and open relationships, both between us and with our clients. We have a strict Code of Conduct that we believe is true and worth following. So if you are an asshole, don’t apply 😄


Key things we are looking for:

  • You speak and write native-level Swedish and professional-level English.

  • You currently live in Sweden or have lived for a long period of time, and follow the Swedish media on daily basis.

  • You love technology, innovation, and change in the world we are currently living in.

  • You have a passion for writing and have excellent communication skills.

  • You are open and honest with your team members and clients, and you love to work as part of a team.

  • You have great organizational skills and are able to balance multiple client cases simultaneously.

Nice to have:

  • A practical understanding of social media and the ability to write marketing messages that resonate with our audience.

  • Interest and basic knowledge on how journalism works and on the Nordic startup/small-to-medium business scene.

  • Studies were done in a university (a Master’s degree is a plus), but more importantly, you’re hungry to learn more all the time.

  • Good writing and oral skills in another language, preferably in Norwegian, Danish, or German

Most of what is mentioned above are nice to have. What we really want from a colleague is to be a great writer and have the willingness to learn more all the time, while having an amazing attitude towards our clients and team.
